Richard F. Stevens, age 88 of West Haven, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2021. He was the loving husband of the late Audrey Sullivan Stevens. Richard leaves behind two sons and a daughter; Mark Stevens, Michael Stevens and Roberta (Michael) Melotto, cherished grandchildren, Danielle Defosses, Michael Stevens, Kyle Stevens, Matt Stevens, Jordan Mendelssohn, Rachael Desjardins-Smith and Samantha Stevens, and three beloved great grandchildren, Nicholas Defosses, Joseph Defosses and Cole Stevens. In addition to his wife Audrey, he was pre-deceased by his father Julius Stevens, his mother Lillian Bradley Stevens and his brother Robert Stevens.

Richard had a 34-year long career with Southern New England Telephone Company, where he worked as a manager until his retirement. He was a huge baseball fan who donated his time coaching for Little League and Babe Ruth. Richard was an avid golfer and loved spending his free time on the links; he was a long-time member of Grassy Hill Country Club. Richard and his wife Audrey loved to travel.  In their retirement they had a second residence in Florida- they were snowbirds who spent their winters in the sun. Above all, Richard was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather.
