Phebe Marie Wilson

Phebe Wilson, age 98, of Sheridan, passed away on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at Hathaway Hills in Greenville. An active and lifelong resident of the Sheridan area, Phebe has been a fixture in the community. She and her late husband, Frank, owned and operated Wilson Farms since 1942, they also sold Pioneer Seed Corn and Badger Farm Equipment for many years. Phebe and Frank were instrumental in introducing the registered Holstein breed to the Central Michigan area. She was a member of the Michigan Milk Producers Association and Michigan Holstein Association. Phebe served as the Bushnell Township Clerk for over 45 years, was a lifelong Republican, volunteered at Sheridan Community Hospital, and was also a 4-H Leader. She was the longest surviving member of the Michigan Farm Bureau, having been a member for 80+ years, and was also a member of Montcalm County Farm Bureau. Phebe was a member of the Montcalm and Michigan Township Associations. She was a member and attended Fenwick United Methodist Church her entire life. Phebe Wilson left the world and Sheridan area better than she found it; everyone in the community is a little better off because of Phebe. Surviving Phebe are her daughters, Avis (Dennis) Jensen of Levering and Judy (Jerry) Emmons of Sheridan; grandchildren, Kirsten (Eric) Guenther of Hubbard Lake, Jill (Chad) Harms of Granger, Indiana, Heather Emmons (Rob Drew) of Grand Rapids, Chad (Lesley) Emmons of Byron Center, Tyler (Andrea) Emmons of Rockford; great grandchildren, Cailey (Nick) Jones of Petoskey, Logan Guenther of Hubbard Lake, Jensen Harms, Ava Harms, and Maryn Harms, all of Granger, Indiana, Kennedy Emmons, Keegan Emmons, and Andrew Emmons, all of Byron Center, Kelly Emmons and Daniel Emmons, both of Rockford; and her nieces and nephews, Karene Cooper, Connie Howes, Tom Worden, Ellen McGowan, Jane Worden, and Donna Wilson; and her cousin, Robert Worden. Phebe was preceded in death by her parents, Frank & Laura (Johnson) Worden; husband, Frank Wilson; brothers, Paul (Bea) Worden, Robert (Bea) Worden, and a brother-in-law, Don (Isabelle) Wilson. A memorial service celebrating Phebe’s life is being planned for a later date.
