Stephanie Lynn Steeves Fredericton, New Brunswick Obituary

Stephanie Lynn Steeves

It is with great sadness that the family of Stephanie Lynn Steeves (Lorrain) announce her passing. Steph passed away on November 14, 2021, at the age of 47 after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honour her legacy by living their lives to the fullest. Stephanie was born November 21, 1973, in Chatham, New Brunswick. After completing public school, she completed her bachelor’s degree in Psychology at the University of New Brunswick in 1996. Her love of young ones led her to a career taking care of children for 10 years in her own home. The “Littles” all held a place in her heart, and we know she’s in theirs also. Through her education she met her husband Merle, and together they lived in Halifax, Chicago, and Toronto before returning home to Fredericton to raise two beautiful daughters Livia and Julia. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Steph. Being with friends and family, a glass of wine in hand. Everyone was welcome in her home, a home filled with laughter and love. Her effervescent personality was contagious to everyone she met. Steph loved spending time in the kitchen, knitting, watching the Simpsons (or quoting them) and all things chocolate or cheese. Lovingly remembered by husband Merle, daughters Livia and Julia, parents Lynn (Ian) Taylor and Luc (Julie) Lorrain, brothers Matt (Sophie) and Nick (Vanessa), stepsister Shannon, nieces Alex, Angel, Kaeleigh, nephews Pryde and Lucas, mother and father-in-law Heather and Wendell Steeves, sister-in-law Candace Steeves, many aunts, uncles and cousins, many special friends, and her very special companion Draco. We’d like to thank the extra-mural nurses and the doctors, nurses, and volunteers at Hospice House Fredericton for their care and support. A Celebration of Life will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, New Brunswick on Thursday, November 25, 2021 from 1-4 pm. Donations can be made in Stephanie’s name to the Canadian Cancer Society, Hospice House or the charity of donor’s choice. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
