Greta I. Hintz, age 84, a resident of Eagle River, WI since 1996 and formerly of Stevens Point, WI, passed away on Thursday November 11, 2021 at the Friendly Village Nursing Home in Rhinelander, WI with her husband by her side. Greta was born on July 13, 1937 to Albert and Dorothy Stratton in Black River Falls, WI. She was a graduate of Amhurst High School in Amhurst, WI. She married her husband, Ernie Hintz, on September 4, 1956 in Decora, IA. Greta enjoyed gardening, cooking, RV travelling, jewelry making, playing the piano, shopping, and the color pink. Above all she loved family time. She was a Girl Scout leader in Stevens Point, WI. She was a member of St. Mary of the Snows Anglican Church in Eagle River, WI. Greta was preceded in death her parents: Albert and Dorothy Stratton and her brother: George Stratton. She is survived by her husband: Ernie Hintz of Eagle River, WI; her daughter: Lori Hintz of Madison, WI; her son: John (Tina) Hintz; her sister: Mary (Bernard) Stanke of Eagle River, WI; special niece: Stephanie Heritage-Theiss of Eagle River, WI; and grandchildren: Shannon (Joshua Paskey) Hintz and Johnathan Hintz. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday December 4, 2021 at St. Mary of the Snows Anglican Church in Eagle River, WI. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to services at the church.
