Sheryl Peterson, 62, of Phoenix, AZ, formerly of Detroit Lakes, MN passed away on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at Mayo Hospital in Arizona. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, December 3, 2021, 2 PM, at The Vineyard Church in Detroit Lakes, MN.

Sheryl Lynn Odden was born on April 12, 1959, in Fargo, ND to James and Colleen (Whitehouse) Odden. She graduated from Fargo South High School with the class of 1977.  After high school she attended North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton, ND studying Practical Nursing. She graduated with a Practical Nursing Degree. She started working for St. Francis Medical Center in Breckenridge, MN in the OBGYN department and worked there for over 9 years. She moved to Arizona and worked for two nursing registries. She moved back to Fargo, ND in 1991 and began working for St.Luke's Hospital in the registry department for 9 years, then retired from Dakota Hospital’s OBGYN/ educational department.

Sheryl met the love of her life Ron Peterson and the two married in August of 1998. The couple resided in Fargo, ND for 10 years, before moving to Detroit Lakes, MN after they retired.  They had a vast love for playing cards, fishing and being at the lake with their grandchildren.

Sheryl moved to Phoenix, AZ in May of 2021, to be closer to her daughters and grandchildren. 

Sheryl is survived by her daughters Lisa (Ryan) Babel, Marie Moeckel, step-daughters Erica (Gabe) Borquez, Carrie Peterson, Kirsten (Chris) Olson; sister Kim (Frank) Galeno; grandchildren Corbin & Dorian Moeckel, Bria & Asher Babel, Joshua, Caleb & Luke Borquez; niece Montana Banks, nephew Shane Banks and extended family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her soulmate Ron Peterson; parents James and Colleen; and brother Miles Odden.
