Joanne E. OBERG (Hukriede)

Age 81 of Woodbury, Minnesota, formerly of West St. Paul, passed away Friday, November 12, 2021.  Joanne is survived by the love of her life, Dwayne Oberg, children Susan (Bob) Miller, Karen (Rob) Kugler, Steve (Jill) Oberg, sister Joyce (Orlan) Echternach, sister-in-law Susan (Kenneth) Hukriede, grandchildren Andy Stein (Shannon Blakely), Jeff (Kathleen) Stein, Logan Kugler (Amber Dorneman), Taylor Kugler, great-grandchildren Hendrix, Kennedy & Elin.  Preceded in death by parents Elmer and Margaret Hukriede and brother Kenneth. 

Joanne met her beloved husband, Dwayne, at a tennis court dance in 1956.  In 1959, a year after graduating from South St. Paul High School, she and Dwayne married. They lived happily together for over 62 years.  Joanne was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, always present and supportive of her family.  She enjoyed music, travel, chatting, and making/selling crafts in a business with daughter Susan for over 30 years.  Joanne’s warm nature, quick smile, and loving spirit with be forever cherished.

Funeral service at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, November 18 at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church, 1575 Charlton St., West. St. Paul.  Visitation one hour prior to service, followed by a light luncheon and internment at Acacia Park Cemetery.  Memorials appreciated for the Epilepsy Foundation of Minnesota and St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church.  Masks required during service.  Service will be available https://www.facebook.com/sslcwsp/live/ beginning at 10:55 a.m.
