<p>Marlow: Arvel Lee Smith, 71, passed away Friday, November 12, 2021 in Oklahoma City.</p><p><br></p><p>Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, November 19, 2021, at the Glory Bound Church, with Rev. David Woods officiating. All arrangements have been entrusted to Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow.</p><p><br></p><p>Arvel was born Sunday, June 18, 1950 in Marlow, to Eugene B. and Annie Lucelle (Ezell) Smith. He was a 1968 graduate of Marlow High School. Arvel lived in the Marlow area all of his life and worked as a tractor mechanic. He married his best friend and soulmate, Deborah Priest, in Henrietta, TX, March 24, 1972. Arvel and Debbie celebrated more than 49 wonderful years of marriage. He had a love for farming and devoted much of his time working with his cattle. Arvel loved all animals, but horses and German Shepherds were his favorites. Anytime he had the chance, he would attend the horse sales. Arvel enjoyed watching old western movies (Gunsmoke being his favorite) and playing cards. He spent many hours in his shop working or tinkering with things and he could build anything. Arvel was a strong willed man and a friend to all. He loved his family above all other things and will be missed by many. </p><p><br></p><p>Survivors include his wife of the home, 2 sons, Chad Smith and wife Shelli of Duncan, and Jacob Smith and wife Holly of Duncan, daughter, Laurie Ann Dunn and husband Kevin of Edmond, 6 grandchildren, Clayton Penny and wife Meagan, Austin Smith, Emma Smith, Braylie Harris, Jameson Smith, and Avery Smith, great-grandson, Daegan Harless, brother, Marvin Smith and wife Dorothy of Marlow, 2 sisters, Reba Sue Smith of Bella Vista, AR, and Sherry Littleton of Marlow. Other survivors include Lisa Caton and husband Don of Blanchard, and numerous nieces and nephews. </p><p><br></p><p>Arvel was preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Jared Wayne Penny, brother, Raymond Smith, and 3 sisters, Cova Smith, Reva June Poland, and Donna Balm. </p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>In lieu of flowers or food, the Smith family asks that food be donated to the Good Samaritans in Marlow. </p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>Online condolences may be made to www.CallawaySmithCobb.com</p>
