THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE ASSISTING THE FAMILY OF THERESA PORTER BETHLEHEM – Theresa A. Porter (Santucci), age 85 of Bethlehem formerly of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2021 at the Ludlow Rehabilitation Center in Fairfield after an extended illness. She was predeceased by her husband Frank W. Porter. Theresa was born March 4th 1936 in Waterbury, CT, the daughter of the late Sabatino and Antoniette (Avaitabile) Santucci. Theresa spent many years working for SNET as a payroll clerk before her retirement. She was a devoted and loving mother and aunt with a deep affection for her nieces and nephews and loyal companions Molly and McGee. Theresa spent her free time playing scrabble, completing crossword puzzles and listening to “The 60’s on 6 with Flash”. She was a devoted Red Sox fan with a deep admiration for Jermey Remy. Theresa filled the kitchen with the smell of homemade Italian cookies which she gave to friends and family every Christmas season. She also enjoyed camping at Hammonasset State Park in her earlier years with Frank and her children. Left to cherish her memory, are her three children; Brenda Jean McGrath and her husband, John of Bethlehem and Teresa Porter-D’Aversa and her husband, David of Shelton and Frank C. Porter and his wife, Dawn of Plymouth. She also leaves her grandson, William T. Campion III and his wife, Jennifer and a great grandson Miles Campion. The family would like to acknowledge Annette Rinaldi who lived with the family in her early years. Theresa was the last of 11 children and was predeceased by her 10 siblings, Nancy Raimundo, John Santucci, Sarah Dandonoli. Mary Bertoumeyrie, David Santucci, Rose Boisvert, Alphonse Santucci, Eleanor Capristo, Armond Santucci, and Virginia “Gina” Gelinas. Theresa’s family would like to thank and acknowledge all the staff and care takers at the Ludlow Rehabilitation Center as well as Sina Raissi M.D. F.A.S.N. for all the wonderful care and support they provided to Theresa during her illness. Funeral Services for Mrs. Porter will be held on Friday, November 19, 2021 8:00 a.m. from Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1987 East Main St Waterbury, CT 06705 to Our Lady of Lourdes Church to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury. Friends and relatives may visit with Theresa’s family on Thursday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. We continue to remain concerned about the ongoing pandemic so masks will be required during all indoor services whether you are vaccinated or not. Donations in her memory can be made to the Bethlehem Ambulance Association, Inc .PO Box 401 83 Main St South, Bethlehem, CT 06751.
