TSgt Ralph H. McBroom

<p>TSgt Ralph H. McBroom, USAF, Ret, age 85, of Vancleave, passed away on November 14, 2021.</p> <p>He was preceded in death by his parents, Elijah and Cassie McBroom; his first wife, Ima Grace McBroom; a brother, Robert Lee McBroom; and a step-son, Kevin Allen.</p> <p>He is survived by his loving wife and friend, Jeri McBroom; his children, Doug McBroom, Grace McBroom Douglas, Kristy McBroom, Charlie McBroom, and Grace Michelle McBroom; a step-son, Michael Allen; a brother, Kenneth McBroom; 4 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.</p> <p>Mr. McBroom was a native of Clarks, LA and was a graduate of Castor High School in LA.&nbsp; He entered the United States Air Force the day after his graduation and served honorably until his retirement as a Tech Sergeant in 1974. He served in Turkey, Korea, Vietnam, Maine, California, and Keesler AFB in Biloxi.&nbsp; After his career in the military, he worked at MS Gulf Coast Community College where he was instrumental in creating the learning lab for the Vo-Tech program and retired as Associate Dean of the Vo-Tech at the Jefferson Davis Campus. &nbsp;Mr. McBroom was a life member of the VFW, a member of the MS American Vocational Association, the Retired Enlisted Association where he was Past President, USM Alumni Association, the MS Gulf Coast Alumni Association, and the Gulf Coast College Foundation.&nbsp; He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Vancleave.</p> <p>Mr. McBroom had a love of reading and music and he enjoyed growing Day Lillies.</p> <p>Visitation will be on Thursday, November 18, 2021, from 10 &ndash; 11 am at the Vancleave United Methodist Church, 13620 MS-57, Vancleave, MS 39565.&nbsp; The funeral service will be at 11 am in the church sanctuary.&nbsp; Interment will be in D&rsquo;Iberville Memorial Park.</p> <p>In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Vancleave United Methodist Church.&nbsp;</p> <p>The Riemann Family Funeral Home, 13872 Lemoyne Blvd. in West Jackson County served the McBroom.&nbsp; An online register can be signed, and memories and photos shared at www.riemannfamily.com</p>
