HOPE…………Walter E. Campbell, 85, of Hope, passed away at the<br>Sussman House on Wednesday morning Nov.10 2021. Born on June 6,<br>1936 in Hope, he was the son of George and Justine (Norwood) Campbell.<br>Walter lived in Hope until he graduated in 1955 from Camden High School.<br>In 1957, he married Barbara Wood, with whom he celebrated his 64 th year of<br>marriage on June 22, 2021. Walter and Barbara lived in Camden for over 35<br>yrs. Later they moved to Hope at their current address for 29 yrs. He was a<br>member of Camden Fire Dept. and a part time officer for Camden Police<br>Department for a period of time. In Hope, he served as a Selectman and<br>represented Hope on the Mid-coast Solid Waste board.<br>Walter was a member of several organizations including Hope Historical<br>Society, Waldo County Shrine Club, Anah Temple Shrine, Midcoast Shrine<br>Club, Scottish Rite, Ivy Chapter #16, and Fraternity Rockport Masonic<br>Lodge.<br>His employment included Reichheld Motors, Mike Cramer Volkswagen,<br>Rodney Boynton’s Chevrolet and retired from Shepard Chrysler Dodge Jeep<br>Saab after many years there as a salesman.<br>Walter enjoyed fishing and ice fishing at Nicatous Lake, and went with<br>several good friends on moose hunts. His favorite time was a motorcycle<br>trip around the Canadian Gasbay Peninsula with good friends, as well as a<br>cruise through the Panama Canal. He will be missed by his family and<br>friends.<br>Surviving is his wife of 64 years, Barbara Campbell; his son, Eric L.<br>Campbell; his granddaughters; Jillian Neal, Alicen Howell his siblings; Russell Campbell, Morgan Campbell, Joanne<br>Severson; aunt, Gwendolyn Brodis; uncle, Rodney Norwood; nieces,<br>nephews, cousins; and sister-in-law, Martha Leach. He was predeceased by<br>a niece and several cousins.<br>A graveside service will be at 12:30 in the afternoon on Saturday May 14, 2022 in Hope Grove<br>Cemetery.
