Leon E. Ashcraft

<p>A golden heart has stopped beating, hardworking hands are laid to rest, GOD called our sweetheart Leon home, and his pain and suffering has ended. He has met his SAVIOR face to face. Leon E. Ashcraft, son of the late Meredith and Mary Ashcraft of Frazeysburg, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday morning, November 14 at Riverside Methodist Hospital.&nbsp; Leon had spinal surgery June 23, 2021, and has had health issues since.&nbsp; He spent a month in Mt. Vernon Health &amp; Rehab and then 2 months in Johnstown Pointe, where he received special care.&nbsp; He had recently been sent back to Riverside where he had more spinal surgery, he appeared to be doing well until he had a massive heart attack on November 14.&nbsp;</p> <p>Leon attended Mt. Vernon Baptist Temple where he had many friends.&nbsp; Leon loved the farm and spent many hours mowing and bailing hay. &nbsp;He also loved to bow hunt in the fall and was able to harvest several trophy bucks.&nbsp; Leon was Co-Owner with his wife Karen and son Eric of AP Production &amp; Service, LLC, oil &amp; gas production and servicing company. Leon spent 60 years working in the Oil &amp; Gas industry where he had acquired the nick name the &ldquo;Well Doctor&rdquo;. &nbsp;He had many wonderful friends and many great memories, he loved telling &ldquo;oil patch&rdquo; stories.&nbsp; Leon was the former NTPA Grand National 4WD Truck Pulling National Champion and the 6-time State &ldquo;OSTPA&rdquo; Champion in the 4WD classes with his truck he called &ldquo;The Gold Digger&rdquo;. Leon and his family traveled all over the US and Canada for 10 years pulling trucks, and he loved it!</p> <p>Leon was a very loving husband to his wife Karen of 62 years.&nbsp; He was a loving father to his precious children; Jeri (John) Garner of Spring Hill, TN, Eric (Jenni) Ashcraft of Utica, OH, Chris (Jen) Ashcraft of Galena, OH.&nbsp; Ten Grandchildren, Ryan (Britney) McCollough, Mandi (Joel) Nash, Johnny (Stephanie) Garner, Amy (Eric) Andrews, Emily Collins, Sarah (Brandt) Webster, Abbi and Cassie Ashcraft, Grace and Caleb Ashcraft. 11 Great Grandchildren.&nbsp; He leaves behind a sister Patti (Stan) Zimmer Bradenton, FL, &amp; Nancy Hanger of Granville, OH.&nbsp; Leon was preceded in death by his parents Meredith &amp; Mary Ashcraft Frazeysburg, OH, his sister Donna Stacey, Pittsburg, PA and a daughter Jan McCollough Fisher, Columbus, OH.</p> <p>Friends may call at Faith Baptist Church Martinsburg Road, Wednesday, November 17, 2021, from 5-8 PM, Funeral Service to be held at Faith Baptist Church Martinsburg Road, Thursday, November 18, 2021 at 1 PM with graveside to follow at Martinsburg Cemetery, there will be a Celebration of life to follow graveside at Faith Baptist Church Family Center.</p>
