James Edward Byrd

James Edward “Eddie” Byrd, a native of Bogalusa, LA and a resident of Zachary, LA entered into eternal rest on Saturday, November 13, 2021 surrounded by family and friends. Eddie will be remembered as an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed spending time at his hunting camp. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, father, grandfather and loyal friend. He is survived by his wife, Tanya Webb Byrd, three sons, Dustin Byrd (Lindsay), Jonathan Fletcher (Rebecca) and Caynan Byrd; two sisters; Jackie Creed (Mike) of Baton Rouge and Donna Laurent (Jimmy) of New Roads, LA and one brother, Ronnie Byrd (Kim) of Zachary. Eight grandchildren, Parker, Brody, Lily, Molly, Jaxon, Liam, Beckett and Griffin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Betty Jo Byrd and a son, Derek Wayne Byrd. A graveside service will be in his honor at Azalea Rest Cemetery at 10am on Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2021. Honorary pallbearers will be Harry Sherman, Jr., Howard Martin, Steve Babin, Crea Pugh, David Rushing, Dylan, Wicker, Charlie Brown and Craig Paxton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice or the American Cancer Society.
