<p>Daniel “Dan” James Polverini, 71 of Follansbee, WV, passed away at 4:10 AM on Thursday, November 11, 2021 at Brightwood Center, Follansbee, WV under the care of the staff.</p><p><br></p><p>Daniel was born on May 11, 1950 in Follansbee, WV. He was the eldest son of the late Dante “Dan” Polverini and Anna (Ciccarelli) Polverini.</p><p><br></p><p>Daniel was a loving father and husband and parishioner of the Catholic Church. Growing up, he would build and launch rockets with his brother, and he was a talented guitarist, who played in local bands. He was a graduate of Follansbee High School Class of 1968 and he received a degree from Jefferson Technical College as well as Bachelor and Master Degrees from West Liberty State College. Daniel worked as a school teacher at St. Anthony in Steubenville, OH and as the manager of Toyco before beginning his career with Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel as an electrician and crane operator. In 1977, he married Janet Vukelic and together, they built a life and raised their daughter, Linda Jane at their home in Toronto, OH. Daniel was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Follansbee, WV as well as St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church and St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, Toronto, OH. </p><p><br></p><p>Among family and friends, Daniel was also affectionately known as “The Captain,” and he proudly donned a hat befitting the finest ship captain. Daniel will be remembered for his kindness and humor, as a history buff, and above all else, as a beloved father. </p><p><br></p><p>In addition to his parents, Daniel was preceded in death by his wife, Janet (Vukelic) Polverini. </p><p><br></p><p>Daniel is survived by his daughter, Linda Polverini, two siblings, Don Joseph Polverini and his wife, Kathy of Follansbee, WV and Diana Marie Allmon and her husband Randy of Wellsville, OH and treasured extended family.</p><p><br></p><p>A gathering of family will occur prior at 9:30 AM until time of Catholic Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Friday, November 19, 2021 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Follansbee, WV with Father Jude Perera, officiating. </p><p><br></p><p>The James Funeral Home of Follansbee, WV (304)527-1717 is honored and privilege to assist the family. </p><p><br></p><p>In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the James Funeral Home, 1245 Main Street, Follansbee, WV 26037 to support his family during this tough time of loss. </p><p><br></p><p>Please add or view condolences, photos and stories at www.chambersandjames.com where live stream of the Liturgy will occur.</p><p><br></p><p>TO WATCH WEBCAST CLICK hdezwebcast.com/show/daniel-polverini</p><p><br></p>

Daniel “Dan” James Polverini, 71 of Follansbee, WV, passed away at 4:10 AM on Thursday, November 11, 2021 at Brightwood Center, Follansbee, WV under the care of the staff.
