<p>&nbsp;&nbsp; KENNETH RAY BENTS ended his journey on November 13, 2021 at the Sunset Hospice Cottage, Worthington, MN. Born November 29, 1950 to Herb and Frances (Venenga) Bents, he was raised on a farm south of Rushmore. He attended country school in Little Rock Township, Ellsworth High School and went to trade school to study auto mechanics. Kenny married Diane Roemeling on September 26, 1992 and lived in Adrian all of his married life.</p> <p>Ken was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in October 2018. After treatment and a cancer free year, it returned in October 2020. He fought the disease firecely with the love and support of his wife and family and home visits by Hospice Luverne until entering Sunset Hospice Cottage, Worthington, MN on November 9th.</p> <p>&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Ken spent his life trucking. He drove for Bergers Concrete, worked on Interstate 90, Nobles County Highway department, Bud’s Reading Bus Line, Steve Bents Trucking, and after retirement for Sailor Plastic. He enjoyed life to the fullest. He loved to hunt deer, pheasant, and prairie dogs, and go ice fishing with family and friends. He was an avid collector of toy tractors. He loved showing and driving his 1972 Plymouth Duster and his 1990 Ford Ranger, which he purchased new to his specifications. Ken and Diane enjoyed making wood lawn ornaments for every holiday. He looked forward to their yearly vacations, especially to Branson, MO. Feeding the squirrels and deer that wandered into the yard gave him hours of entertainment.</p> <p>Ken is survived by his loving wife Diane, brothers George Bents of Worthington, Leo Bents (Cheryl) of Reading, sisters and brothers-in-law Colleen Bents, Tammy Bents, Jeannie (Butch) Hieronimus, Pat Honken, Tom (Bev) Roemeling, Jerry (Cindy) Roemeling, Jack Roemeling, Lynn (Dennis) Heidebrink, Brenda (Roemeling) Martin, Lezlee Roemeling, Mark (Gloria) Roemeling, Deb Lange, Julie (Doug) Hermeling; and many nieces and nephews.</p> <p>Loved ones waiting for him in heaven are his parents, Herb and Frances Bents, parents-in-law John and Viola Roemeling, brothers Dwayne Bents and Burdell Bents, in-laws Linda Bents, Jim and Germaine Roemeling, Dorothy Roemeling, Kathy Haken, Bob Honken, Donna Rippel, Rick Roemeling, Larry Roemeling, nieces and nephew, Cheri Roemeling, Jackie Hieronimus and Michael Hermeling.</p> <p>&nbsp;&nbsp; Visitation will be from 4-7 pm Tuesday at the Dingmann Funeral Home, in Adrian, and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Funeral will be 10:30 am Wednesday at St. Adrian Catholic Church, in Adrian, officiated by Monsignor Richard Colletti. Final resting place will be at Sunset Rest Cemetery in Rushmore, at 1:30 pm Wednesday. Life’s path is more easily traveled in the company of family and friends.
