He married Marilyn Roth on May 25, 1963 at St. Mark’s Church and she preceded him in death on August 4, 2009. He is survived by two sons Thomas (Laura) McGrew of Indianapolis, and David (Nancy) McGrew of Germantown Hills; two daughters Sister Diane Marie OSF of Peoria, and Janet Albertson of Goodfield; 11 grandchildren Kellie, Will, Joseph, Jacob, Jack, Joshua, Luke, Amanda, Claire, Henry, and Penelope. Bob was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church, but he raised his family at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, where he spent countless hours doing maintenance in both the school and the church. Bob volunteered on the Tazewell Military Rites Team, and he was the pancake maker at the Deer Creek American Legion breakfasts. He enjoyed helping his children repair and maintain their homes, and he loved attending his grandchildren’s activities whenever he could. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 AM Saturday November 20th 2021 at St. Mark’s Church with the Reverend Monsignor Brian Brownsey officiating. Visitation will be from 4-7 PM on Friday at Wright and Salmon Mortuary with recitation of the rosary at 6:45 PM. Additional visitation will be 30 minutes before the Mass at the church. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in West Peoria. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mark’s Church, OSF Home Care Services, or Nitsch Theatre Arts NFP.
