Carol Jean Darling

East Lyme- Carol Jean James Darling, 80 of Chapman Drive passed away on Sunday November 6, 2016 at Bayview Health & Rehabilitation where she has been a residence for the last 13 years. She was born February 25, 1936 in Midland, Texas the daughter of Berry and Catherine James. Carol graduated from Fair Park High School in Bosier City, Louisiana. She married Alvin (Buzzy) Daring in October of 1955. Carol worked for many years as a secretary for the law firm of Suisman and Shapiro retiring after 26 years. She loved to read often reading the same books over and over and was an avid stamp collector. Besides her husband she is survived by her children Michele Doucette and her husband William of Niantic and Michael S. Darling of East Lyme. 6 grandchildren, Megan Darling and her husband John Watt, Eric Perkins, Zachary Perkins, Hunter Perkins, Tate Joseph and Connor Doucette. She is also survived by 2 great grandchildren, Chelsea Darling, and Jordan Darling, as well as 1 great great grandchild Paisley Perkins. She is predeceased by one daughter Devon Darling. The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday November 12th from 3 to 5 pm, with a funeral service conducted at 4:00pm, at the Thomas L. Neilan & Sons East Lyme Funeral Home 48 Grand Street Niantic. Donations in her memory may be made to Friends of Feral Felines c/o The Niantic Animal Hospital, 9 Lake Avenue. Niantic, CT 06357
