Charles Polson

In lieu of a funeral, the family of Charles L. Polson of Artesia, New Mexico, will be receiving visitors on Sunday, November 14th, 2021, from 2-4pm at 1603 Zydeco Place in Artesia.<br><br>Mr. Polson, 87, died on November 10, 2021 in Artesia.<br><br>Charles was born on February 23, 1934 in Clayton, New Mexico; the son of Charles Lynn Polson and Helen Morris Polson.<br><br>He married Beatrice Frank on October 10, 1959, in Clayton, New Mexico.<br><br>He was a veteran of the Air Force, having served in Korea. He began his business career in insurance, later becoming a computer programmer, a banker, and finally a deacon in the Catholic Church, serving in later years at Our Lady of Grace.<br><br>Charles was class president and excelled in sports during high school. After his military service, he attended NMSU, where he graduated with his Bachelors degree. <br><br>He has been a Bulldog fan as long as he has been an Artesia resident. In the last years of his life, he had focused on his family, caring for his late wife and visiting his children and their families. <br><br>He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a brother Melvin, a grandson Maddux Charles, and a son-in-law Albert Reyes.<br><br>He is survived by his sons Jon Polson and longtime-girlfriend Rhonda Geller, and Chris Polson and his wife Heather Rogers Polson; daughters Lynn Kendall and her husband John, and Karen Reyes; a sister Gloria Polson; 4 grandchildren David, Carlie and her husband Cody, Erica, and Camden, and 1 great-grandchild Callie.<br>
