Mr. James Alfred Emerson, age 79, of Danville, VA, passed away on Thursday, November 11, 2021 at SOVAH Health Danville in Danville, VA.

He was born on June 24, 1942, in Pittsylvania County, VA to the late Henry Clay Emerson and Georgie Tuck Emerson.

Before his retirement, Mr. Emerson worked as a laborer in the construction field.

He is survived by his sisters: Willis Jennings, Elise Bennett, and Julie Hedrick.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Emerson was predeceased by his siblings: Rugie, Spencer, and Eddie Lee Emerson and his sister, Mary Poindexter.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, November 15, 2021 at Danville Memorial Gardens with Dr. Charles Scearce officiating.
