She is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Evelyn, stepfather Samuel McDuffey; husband Thomas “Frank” Holsey; sisters Rhilda “Pat” Williams, Katherine Corbell and Ione Brown; brothers Robert “Nikki” Murray, Everett “Beaver” Murray and William “Bill” Murray. Koleta is survived by brothers, Aubert Murray and Sam McDuffey; daughters Karla and son-in-law Curtis Keim and Tommye Joann and son-in-law Sid Berry and son-in-law David Capps; grandchildren Ashley Eaton and husband Levi, Samantha Capps and Tyler Cagle, Jacob Capps and wife Cherokee and Brittany Keim; five great grandsons Bryor Lee Cagle, Jaxon Eaton, Lincoln Eaton, Sutton Capps and Fisher Cagle as well as many other nieces and nephews. Koleta spent a good portion of her childhood in Welling, OK until moving to Muskogee with her family when she was a young teen. It was here in Muskogee where she would meet her childhood sweetheart and later marry him on December 19, 1950 at the ages of 16 and 17. Koleta spent many years mothering and parenting several nieces and nephews as well as her husband’s siblings. Caring for and raising them with all her love as if they were her own. Koleta would later attend and complete nursing school in Muskogee. She worked as an LPN at Muskogee General Hospital, extending her care and love of people to help nurture them back to health. From here she would later attend night classes to obtain her GED. After starting her own family, Koleta and husband Frank would move to Okay, OK in 1967 with their young daughter Karla. Seven years later they would welcome their second child and daughter Tommye into this world. Here is where they would raise their daughters and Koleta would live out the remainder of her days. Koleta was plagued with several medical health conditions in which she was given a life expectancy of only 10 years. She would not only live out her 10 years but would do it by 42 years. In 1994 Koleta became a member of the Okay United Methodist Church where she was a devoted member of the church and servant of God. She loved her little church and all her church family so very much and did all that she could to help when needed. Not only was Koleta devoted to her church, but also her family – especially her grandkids and great grandsons whom she adored. She was always elated to spend time with them. Nana, as she was called, wanted them all to know and remember that Nana loved them with all her heart, and it is without a doubt that she did. Koleta will always be remembered for her never ending love of God, family and community. Also, for her ability to show and give love and kindness to all she met, and for her forgiving heart. She was considered an angel by many. Donations may be made to the Gospel Rescue Mission in Muskogee in her memory, an organization that near and dear to her heart as well as to St. Jude’s Medical Research.
