Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm, Saturday, November 13, 2021, at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel for Ulysse Michael Schexnayder, 89, who passed away November 10, 2021, at Southwind Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Deacon Dan Didier of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church will be officiating for the services. The family is requesting visiting hours to be held Saturday from 11:00 am to the time of service at 1:30 pm. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. He is survived by one daughter and husband Wanda and Ray Chase;one son and wife Curtis and Lisa Schexnayder and their children Morgana and Dylan and two great grandchildren Nevaeh and Sariah and eldest grandson Marcus Chase; one sister Bonnie Fergurson and brother Milton “Bee” Cormier. Mr. Schexnayder is preceded in death by wife, Nancy; and his parents, Theresa and Walter Broussard Schexnayder, sisters Mary Grimes, Rosamae Broussard, Rosabell and Shirley Harris. He was very proud of his heritage and served as Sargent at Arms for 12 years with the Cajun French Music Association. Houston Heritage Chapter. He and his late wife Nancy won many dance competitions who also served as President for the CFMA for about 12 years as well.
