<p>Elinor F. Norton age 92 on November 6, 2021. Born in Brooklyn and raised in Bayport -Blue Point area she was the valedictorian of Bayport High School class of 1947. Elinor went on to Wellesley College in Massachusetts . Majoring in Chemistry she graduated with Honors in 1951 and was a member of Sigma Xi. She went on to a career as a chemist for over 50 years at Brookhaven National Laboratory. Elinor was the first woman Commodore with the Wet Pants Sailing Association, loved travel, photography, skiing and playing bridge. Her interests also included bowling, cooking, gardening as well as doing the New York Times crossword puzzle. She is survived by her sisters Helen &ldquo;Kay&rdquo; Hart, Nathalie Lewis; 13 nieces and nephews, 23 great nieces and nephews and 2 great-great nephews. Elinor was privately cremated and a graveside service at St. Ann&rsquo;s will take place at a future date. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Raynor &amp; D&rsquo;Andrea Funeral Home 245 Montauk Hwy West Sayville, NY 11796. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Elinor&rsquo;s memory to the Development Fund Wellesley College 106 Central Street Wellesley, MA 02481-8203</p>
