Obituary

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Clint Roberts at the age of 74.

A Celebration of life was held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, November 15, 2021 at the Wheatland Fire Training Center, 759 East Cole Street, Wheatland, Wyoming with Pastor Casey Schroeder officiating. Lunch was served afterward by Laramie Peak VFW Auxiliary #3558.

Clint was born Saturday, April 5, 1947 in Wheatland, Wyoming to Cliff and Virgie (Wilson) Roberts.

Clint passed on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 in Wheatland at the Platte County Memorial Hospital.

Mostly, Clint was raised in Platte County, with a brief stint in Henry, Nebraska. He attended country schools until he was eight years old when he began school in Wheatland schools. He married Sharon Hartung on August 17, 1967. He then promptly left for basic training at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, and then to AIT in Fort Huachuca, Arizona. He then was sent to Germany where he served as a cook and border patrol in the 7th Cavalry in the United States Army until July 1969. Clint then returned to Wheatland where he and Sharon made their home and raised their family. Clint worked at various jobs, including Great Western Sugar Company, Wheatland CO-OP, Big A and John Suntych where he built the portion that is the liquor store now, Wheatland Lumber, True Ranches, and then at the one job that brought him great pride and enjoyment, his own business, Loose Ends Fencing.

Clint enjoyed most all things outdoors, his horses and dogs, and his grandchildren were his pride and joy. He really enjoyed reading, especially the magazine Western Horseman and watching western movies, particularly John Wayne movies.

In August 2003, Clint was diagnosed with Congenital Renal Failure and then in November, 2014 he started hemodialysis.

Clint was survived by his wife of 54 years, Sharon; two daughters, Tammie Roberts of Newcastle, Wyoming, and Crystal (Tom) Kuehler of Wheatland; one sister, Nancy Preuit, of Red Wing, Minnesota; grandchildren, Tanner Kennedy and Huston Kuehler, both of Wheatland; and one niece, Carmen (Brian and son Lukas) Liefeld, of Blaine, Minnesota; and many extended family members.

He was preceded in death by both parents; one son, Douglas Roberts; and one grandson, Myles Roberts.

A memorial to the National Kidney Foundation, 1391 Speer Boulevard #250, Denver, Colorado 80204 or to the Community Thrift Store for the travel vans, 866 Gilchrist Street, Wheatland, Wyoming 82201 would be appreciated by the family.
