Debbie Whiteman Obituary

Debbie Luanne Whiteman gained her angel wings on November 10, 2021 surrounded by her loved ones. Her battle with cancer the past 4 years clearly depicted the courage, strength, resiliency and bravery she used to face and fight all life challenges. Despite the pain she faced, she remained the strongest woman we have ever or will ever know.

Debbie Luanne (Holloway) Whiteman was born on February 11, 1963 to Gene and Joan Holloway. It's been suspected that both Debbie and Becky were fighting which led to Debbie being born breech and Becky getting lonely, so she followed Debbie and was born 6 minutes later. It was at that moment, a lifelong friendship characterized by a strong twin connection, love and a few arguments was born. As a child, Debbie could be found anywhere Becky was and vice versa, but to be honest that didn't change much into adulthood.

Debbie had the work ethic and the stubbornness of a mule. She worked various jobs; however, her favorites have always been breaking and training horses along side Becky and working at the Woodward Livestock Auction for Jerry Nine. Debbie had many good stories of rank horses that she covered and of horses that both she and Becky would tag team. At the Sale barn, she was always the bright, cheerful smile. She was loved by customers, buyers and coworkers alike. She was known to do just about anything to get a laugh out of people. And laugh she did. She had the loudest, most contagious belly laugh that could be heard and identified for miles. If you knew Debbie, you knew her laugh. To know Debbie was to love her.

Debbie loved horses. Whenever her and Becky were younger, they enjoyed racing Dandy and Little Red and hurrying to get them unsaddled and cooled off before Grandad Denver could catch them. It was at that time her love for racehorses was born. She had an eye for the "good ones" which often led to Becky, Tracy and many others placing all their faith in her ability to pick a good one. She had always dreamed of owning a champion Paint horse and in 2017 Sparketta made her dream a reality. She was so damn proud the day Sparketta was named 2017 APHA World Champion. Recently another "good one" was born and we know that Debs Bacardi Sunshine will continue her legacy of breeding nice paint horses.

Debbie always nominated herself as the scout during their yearly trail rides and we are comforted knowing she's scouting out heaven for all of us here. We definitely know she's giving Heaven some Hell right now.

She leaves behind her partner in crime twin sister, Becky Henry and Tim King; son Spencer Holloway; daughter Vanessa and husband Tanner VanZee, daughter Katie and husband Michael Sosanya, daughter Kylene and husband Robert Sharpton, eight grandchildren- Autumn and Wyatt VanZee, Delten and Davin Sosanya, Lola, Trace, Kreede and Brilynn "Jade" Sharpton, brother Billy Jo Holloway and family, sister, Wendy Goff and family, baby sister Tracy Stine and husband John Stine and family, and many other family members and friends.

She's preceded in death by her parents, sister Willa Jean, brother Mike, brother in law James Henry, and nephew Kolby Bowers.

Services will be at Woodward Livestock Auction 11/15/2021 at 2:00pm. Riders welcome to meet at WRC arena on 11/15/2021 at 1:00 for her send off. Please come as you are.
