Joseph Robert LeClair

It is with deep sorrow and much love that the family mourns the passing of Joseph Robert LeClair of Norton, Kansas on November 7, 2021 at the age of 27. Joseph was born on November 18, 1993 at 9:35 pm at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska to Starla and Jeff LeClair. He was baptized at the United Methodist Church in Edmond Ks. Joseph attended grade school at Eisenhower Elementary in Norton, Kansas. He attended Junior High in Norton and participated in football, basketball and ran hurdles and long jumped in track. Joseph attended High School in Norton for his Freshman, Sophomore and Senior year participating in basketball and track and field. Joseph's junior year he lived in Sublette Kansas attending Sublette HS and played basketball. His family remembers that during a game in Sublette he broke his nose and ended up in the ER. This year was also the days Joseph sported the Mohawk. Joseph graduated from high school in 2012. Joseph attended for a short time Fort Hays State University and NCKTC in Hays majoring in business. Joseph was currently employed by Tim and Dave Sprigg on Bullseye Ranch and D&C Cattle Company in Norton, KS. He spent years prior working for his Grandpa Joe on Sproul Farms in Edmond, KS. Joseph enjoyed this past summer on the lake fishing in his boat. He was a lover of all animals. He was in the process of having a friend help him break his horse Daisy. He also had Dolly who was a dog he rescued, that lives at his grandparents farm in Edmond Kansas. He loved spending time with family and was an excellent model for his niece Natalee, so she could practice her makeup skills. Joseph had a knack to take any situation and make you laugh or smile. He lived with a big heart and was always willing to help anybody in their time of need. Joseph helped his Grandpa Joe tend to the Edmond Cemetery. He also helped them garden and plant the flower beds at their farm. His cousin Jeremy stated that he was the tallest member of our family. He will be dearly missed by his friends at Freedom of Choice in Norton Kansas. He will be lovingly remembered by his parents Starla LeClair of Norton and his father Jeff and Kristy LeClair of Norton; grandparents: Joe & Kandi Sproul of Edmond, KS and Judith LeClair of Duluth, MN; sisters: Danielle and Jared VonFeldt of Hays, KS and Courtney and Noah Killip of Overland Park KS; nieces: Natalee and Emilee Vonfeldt and Novah Killip; aunts and uncles: Stacie and Jerry Harder of Salina, KS, Greg Sproul of Edmond, KS, Julie and Greg Braun of Port Charlotte, FL and Judy and Gerald Pantel Mesa, AZ; as well as numerous relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his great-grandma, Roxie Starr Getty, grandparents: Lloyd and Glenna Sproul and James and Lovene Comstock and grandfather, Joseph Robert LeClair. A memorial service will be held 2:30 pm Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Plumer-Gobber Funeral Home, Norton. A celebration of life reception will be held following the service at the Bullseye Event Center, Norton. Visitation will be from 1-2:30 pm also at the funeral home. Private family inurnment will be held at a later date at the Edmond Cemetery, Edmond, KS.
