Dan Michael Smith passed away peacefully Monday, November 8th, 2021.

Dan was born May 6th, 1945, in Cushing Oklahoma. He was raised in Yale, Oklahoma by his parents, Harry and Katherine Smith.  He graduated Yale High School in 1963.  He graduated college from Northeastern College in Tahlequah, Oklahoma in 1970.  He worked in several fields of work including x-raying pipe welds in the Alaska pipeline and pipelines in the Gulf as well as several states.  He taught school and coached in Mounds, Oklahoma. He raised cattle, goats and sold tortillas.  He even taught some Driver’s Ed. He loved the outdoors. He loved to fish, hunt, and raise a garden. He loved to entertain family and friends at his lake house.

Dan is survived by his son Michael, grandson Matthew, and two granddaughters McKinley and Mary Katherine, and a brother Paul.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 10 AM in Sapulpa, Oklahoma at Green Hill Chapel.  Smith Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements.
