Elizabeth A Brady Obituary

Elizabeth A. Brady of Pearl River, NY, formerly of the Bronx, died Monday, November 8, 2021. She was 81 years old.

Elizabeth was born December 17, 1939, in Bronx, NY to Joseph and Betty Donahue. She was a graduate of PS 7 and Academy of the Sacred Heart of Mary, Class of 1957.

Elizabeth worked in the executive offices at RKO pictures in Manhattan, and had some great stories about old movie stars she spoke with on the phone.

In 1961, Elizabeth married Thomas Brady and they began raising their family in the Bronx.

After moving to Pearl River in 1970, she became actively involved in St. Aedan’s Ladies’ Guild and the Cub Scouts.

Elizabeth will be remembered for her strength of spirit, ability to find humor in any situation, and devotion to family. She had an uncanny ability to form lifelong friendships and had a wonderful crew of friends everywhere she went.  She brought life to every party and family union, getting into giggle fits with friends and family, and loved to dance. She also loved golf, traveling, Broadway shows, spending time in the city, playing cards with friends, and the beach.

Elizabeth treated everyone she met with kindness. She was a devoted wife and mother and a fun and doting grandmother and (“not so”) great-grandmother. Quick with a joke, generous with her snuggles, warm, loving, and selfless.

Elizabeth met every challenge she faced with incredible strength and an unfailingly positive outlook. Her resilience and grace under pressure, her compassion for others, and her generosity will be remembered always.

She is predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Thomas; survived by her children, Hugh Patrick and his wife Cathy, Thomas James and wife GeriAnn, Jeanne, Liz and her husband John Bartunek, Mary and her husband Luke Driscoll; eight grandchildren, Kevin Thomas Brady and his wife Kim, Nicholas, Mary Bernadette, Joseph, Rose, Thomas, Frances, and Danny Driscoll, and great-grandchild Kaiden Thomas. She is predeceased by her brothers, Joseph Donahue (Eileen) and Gerald Donahue (Camille). Elizabeth is also a beloved sister-in-law and aunt to many nieces and nephews.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10:00 AM Thursday at St. Aedan R.C. Church, Pearl River. Visiting is Wednesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home, Inc.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Liz’s name to the Learning Academy at The ELS Center of Excellence, 18370 Limestone Creek Road, Jupiter, FL 33458, www.tlacad.org or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, stjude.org.
