Martha Frances Staggs Houser of North Little Rock passed away Saturday November 6, 2021 at the age of 85.  She was born April 11, 1936 in Stuttgart, Arkansas to the late Chester and Martha Eleanor Staggs.  She had one sister and three brothers.  She was the oldest child and always felt responsible for taking care of them and keeping the boys out of trouble.

  She graduated from Jacksonville High School.  One of her best friends introduced her to Robert Lee Houser and they were married in 1954.  They raised four children and attended Bethany Baptist Church for many years.  Summer months were usually spent at the ballpark playing baseball and softball. Mama would work with us in our backyard regularly making sure we were prepared for our games.  She enjoyed watching the Razorbacks, working in her yard and crossword puzzles.  Most of all she loved her family and worried about each one of us.

  Martha is survived by two daughters and one son:  Lisa Cushing (Tony) of Benton, Suzanne Dopieralla (Dick) of North Little Rock, and Mark Houser (Lop) of Little Rock; five grandchildren:  Sherrie Sinkey, Andrew Houser (Meagan), Joshua Dopieralla (Vanessa), John Matt Dopieralla and Melanie Houser, daughter-in-law Judy Houser as well as seven great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by brothers, Bill Staggs, Tom Staggs (Nova) and Al Staggs (Martha). 

  She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; sister, Mary Anne Johnson and her oldest son, John R. Houser who passed away unexpectedly this past June.

  We would like to acknowledge and thank our sister Lisa for the loving care she gave to our mother especially during the last several months. 

  Our mother and father taught us many things, but the most important was introducing us to Jesus Christ at an early age.  That laid the foundation for us.  Our mother will be missed but we know she is finally at peace.

  Private burial will be held at Arkansas Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock.
