Doris Marie Coffman Obituary

Doris Marie (Kyle ) Coffman was born at home in Hester, Oklahoma. She was the first born of Willie Elnora (Riek) Kyle and Jim Doss Kyle on April 3rd, 1929. The family were share croppers and worked for various farmers in the Hester community. She was blessed with two siblings; Martha and Hulon. At the age of eleven she asked the Lord to be her personal savior and was baptized in the First Baptist Church in Mangum. The country church they attended in Hester did not have a working baptistry and she did not want to be baptized in a horse tank. She attended county schools and graduated from City View in 1947. Upon graduation she set out to get a job and went with Tommy Buchanan and his mom on the road selling furniture polish for all of two weeks. She then went to work at M.E. Moses. She attended Mangum Junior College for a short time and was hired on with Bell Telephone as an operator. On September 7th, 1948 she married McGregor Ray Coffman in Wellington Texas. She joined the Central Christian Church and was active as a Sunday School teacher and board member for many years. She continued to work for thirteen more years with the telephone company. In June of 1949, the most beautiful baby was born McGregor Ray Coffman Jr. In August of 1952, a daughter, Jimmie Kay was born into the family. Doris later went to work as a bookkeeper for Jack Caffey Ford and Oluf Toole. In July of 1965, Randall Kyle Coffman was born. Shortly thereafter, she went to work for the Mangum City Hospital and studied to become an accredited medical records technician by correspondence course. After earning the accreditation, she was moved into the director’s role of the medical records department. She and Ray joined the Order of the Eastern Star and was very active for the next thirty years. She eventually retired from the Mangum City Hospital but was recalled by Peggy Payne and worked several more year before retiring a second time. She passed away on November 7th, 2021 at the age of 92 years after a brief illness. Proceeded in Death: Parents, brother and sister-in-law Carol (Bell ) Kyle, sister, Brother-in-laws Scotty Coffman, Kenneth Coffman and Sister-n-Law Doris (Sanders) Coffman and Son-in-law Michael Crouch. Survived by, Husband of the home; Brother-in-law, Bert Kirk of Altus, Oklahoma; Sister-in-law, Linda Coffman of Yukon, Oklahoma son Mac and wife Leanne Coffman of Mangum, Oklahoma; Daughter Jimmie Crouch of Anadarko, Oklahoma and son Randall and wife Tara of Victory, Oklahoma. Grandkids; Greg Wynn, Plainview, Oklahoma, Steven Valentine, Kyle Coffman, Bend, Oregon, Chase Coffman, Portland, Oregon, Christopher Coffman, Waukee, Iowa, Jennifer Risner, Mangum, Curtis Risner, Rector, Arkansas, Crystal and Kaci Crouch of Anadarko, Oklahoma, Kylia Crouch of Juneau, Alaska, Marina Popova of Omsk, Russia, Amanda Coffman and fiancé Kade Wilson, Duke, Oklahoma, and Aubrey Coffman, Victory, Oklahoma. Great Grandkids: 24, Great-Great Grandkids 2, numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, and extended family and church families all over the world.
