Marlow: Kay Lynn Alexander, 83, passed away Thursday, November 4, 2021 in Duncan.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, November 15, 2021, at the First Baptist Church in Marlow, with Rev. Toby Walker officiating. Burial will be in the Marlow Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow. Lunch will be served for family at the First Baptist Life Center at 12:00pm.
Visitation for Kay Lynn will be at the funeral home, Saturday, November 13, 8:30 AM to 8:30 PM, and Sunday, November 14, 1:00 PM to 8:30 PM
Kay Lynn Alexander was surrounded by her loving family as she transitioned from
this earth to her heavenly home on November 4, 2021 at the age of 83. Kay Lynn
was born to Charles and Ena Bernard on March 29, 1938 in Lake Charles, LA. She
lived in Marlow her entire life and graduated from Marlow High School where she
participated in pep club, basketball, Outlaw staff, and was the
Secretary/Treasurer of the Class of ’56. Kay Lynn was extremely proud to be an
Outlaw and bled blue through and through. Kay Lynn married her high school
sweetheart, Bill Gibson, in November of 1956 and later welcomed their first child, a son, Chris
in 1958, and later a daughter, Dena in 1959 and another daughter, Lorri in 1963.
They later divorced. Kay Lynn and Bill Alexander married and joined their families
on February 14, 1974 adding three more daughters, Donna, Earlene, and Judy.
Kay Lynn had a career working as a legal secretary and then for the Oklahoma
Department of Transportation as an accountant for many years and retired from
there. Kay Lynn was a member of the Marlow First Baptist Church and was a
devout Christian. She loved to travel and go on adventures. The mountains were
her favorite. In the last few years she enjoyed going to concerts and watching OU
and Outlaw football. Kay Lynn had a love that ran deep for her dogs and horses.
She loved spending the holidays with her family and made the best rolls. She was
the person that you could always count on to show up. If she loved you, you
knew it. Kay Lynn had many friends that were very dear to her heart. Kay Lynn
was the true definition of selflessness. She will be remembered for her contagious
smile, servant’s heart, amazing advice and most of all her love and dedication to
her family. She has left a legacy for her family that will last for generations to
come.
She is survived by her daughters, Donna Willis and husband Jerry of Marlow; Dena
Wortham and husband Greg of Marlow; Judy Wilkerson and husband Jimmy of
Marlow; Lorri Davies and husband David of Marlow; Grandchildren, Steffany
Johnson and husband Jack of Kingman Texas; Rikki DeWees and husband Brad of
Midlothian Texas; Dusty Earnhart and husband Mike of Blevins Texas; Jason
Barnes and wife Tiffany of Marlow; Cassie Barnes of Lawton; Brea Vankirk and
husband Brian of Marlow; Reagan Olsen and husband David of Lone Oak Texas;
Lacey Graham and husband Keenan of Oklahoma City; Bonnie Riley and husband
Jed of Marlow; Billie Rash and husband Jody of Marlow; Dakota Davies and Shelby
Crutcher of Marlow; Cherokee Pierce and husband Gage of Marlow; 28 Great-grandchildren;
9 Great Great-grandchildren; cousin, Charles Morris Woltz; and the
many others that she was a Mawmaw too.
Kay Lynn was preceded in death by her father, Charles Bernard; mother, Ena
Bernard; son, Chris Gibson; husband, Bill Alexander; grandson, Shea Wortham;
daughter, Earlene Marshall.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Stephens County Humane Society in her honor.
Pallbearers will be: Brian Vankirk, Jason Barnes, Kennan Graham, Dakota Davies, Garrett Hunt, and Andy Howington.
Honorary Pallbearer will be Garrett Hunt.
