Doug was an avid environmentalist employed by Jack Daniel Distillery in 1979 serving as Manager of Environmental Affairs and during his tenure also served as Manager of Boiler and By-Products operations, functioning in marketing and development of entrepreneurial projects. During his tenure, Doug implemented the Jack Daniel cave spring recharge protection program, which is crucial to the longstanding protection of the Jack Daniel cave spring water for use in production of the famous Jack Daniel Tennessee Whiskey. Doug retired from Jack Daniel Distillery with twenty-five years of committed service. Doug had an unconditional love for life, family and friends. His love for adventure was demonstrated in his many family vacations and spending time on the lake. Doug also had a deep love for his family farm. He loved to spend his days admiring the property, riding on his tractor and tending to the garden with Donna. Doug’s passions were watching football, watching the history channel, listening to country music, and enjoying some popcorn with a good movie. His personality was contagious, and he never met a stranger. Doug touched numerous lives and those of us that had the privilege of being a part of his life will always treasure our fond memories.
