Robert Joseph Willis, fondly known as “Guitar Man”, age 73, of Sanford, NC, passed away Saturday, November 6, 2021 at UNC Hospitals.

He was born in Cumberland County, NC on March 29, 1948 to the late Joseph Willis and Emma Blackmon Willis.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Charlie Willis; son Robbie Willis and grandson Chris Wicker.  Mr. Willis worked years ago for Perry Bros Tire Service but had been disabled for many years.

He is survived by his long-time girlfriend Linda Loan; daughter Diane Willis Walston and husband Eddie of Cameron; siblings Barbara Ann Willis, Troy Lee Willis, Dena Willis, Laura Ann Willis; grandchildren Carly O’Quinn and husband Robin, Tiffany Conken and husband Jeremy, Hailey Walston, Aaron Walston; and great-grandchildren Summer, Landon, Journey, C.J., Liam, Maverick and Lilith. 

The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 9, 2021 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home and other times at the home of Diane and Eddie Walston, 3043 Ponderosa Rd., Cameron, NC 28326.  A graveside service will be held Wednesday, November 10th at 2:00 PM at Broadway Town Cemetery.
