<p><span style="font-size:14px;"><strong>Ernestine S. Polsley, 95, Ewington, Ohio passed away Saturday, November 6, 2021 in Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis, Ohio. She was born August 5, 1926 in Hardy, Kentucky, daughter of the late Clifford and Eartly (Sparks) Casey, before moving to Logan, West Virginia, where she was raised.</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px;"><strong>Ernestine married Fred Polsley August 8, 1946 in Ashland, Kentucky and together they raised their family in Ewington, Ohio before his death December 19, 1984. After the children left home, she was employed by the Gallia County Local Schools/North Gallia High School as a school bus driver and returned to school herself continuing her education at Buckeye Hills Career Center. There, she received her Licensed Practical Nursing Certificate, and went to work at Holzer Hospital for over 30 years before her retirement at the age of 80.</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px;"><strong>She was active throughout her lifetime as a member of American Legion Auxiliary Post #161, Vinton, Ohio, Books and Friends Book Club, Vinton, Ohio and Vinton Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School her entire adult life.</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px;"><strong>Those left behind to cherish her memory are sons: Mike Polsley, Gum Spring, Virginia and Chris (Rebecca) Polsley, Galion, Ohio; grandchildren: Chad (Jessica) Polsley, Gallipolis, Ohio; Amanda (Jerry) Robinson, Gum Spring, Virginia; Matthew (Lisa) Polsley, Strongsville, Ohio and Andrea (Spencer) Shipman, Galion, Ohio; seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; sister, Georgine Maynard, Chapmanville, West Virginia and sister-in-law, Sigrid Casey, Merritt Island, Florida.</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px;"><strong>She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Fred, as well as brothers, Ralph Casey and Don Casey.</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px;"><strong>Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 Noon Saturday, November 13, 2021 in the Vinton Baptist Church, State Route 160, Vinton, Ohio with Pastor Heath Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Vinton Memorial Park. Ernestine S. Polsley, 95, Ewington, Ohio passed away Saturday, November 6, 2021 in Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis, Ohio. She was born August 5, 1926 in Hardy, Kentucky, daughter of the late Clifford and Eartly (Sparks) Casey, before moving to Logan, West Virginia, where she was raised.

Ernestine married Fred Polsley August 8, 1946 in Ashland, Kentucky and together they raised their family in Ewington, Ohio before his death December 19, 1984. After the children left home, she was employed by the Gallia County Local Schools/North Gallia High School as a school bus driver and returned to school herself continuing her education at Buckeye Hills Career Center. There, she received her Licensed Practical Nursing Certificate, and went to work at Holzer Hospital for over 30 years before her retirement at the age of 80.

She was active throughout her lifetime as a member of American Legion Auxiliary Post #161, Vinton, Ohio, Books and Friends Book Club, Vinton, Ohio and Vinton Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School her entire adult life.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Fred, as well as brothers, Ralph Casey and Don Casey.

Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 Noon Saturday, November 13, 2021 in the Vinton Baptist Church, State Route 160, Vinton, Ohio with Pastor Heath Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Vinton Memorial Park. Family and friends may call at the church Saturday 11:00 AM to the service hour and masks are optional in the building.

Arrangements are under the direction of the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home who is honored to serve the Polsley Family.
