Edwin Elmer Kreger of Ray Township passed away on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at the age of 77 years. Edwin was born on May 16, 1944 in Mt. Clemens, Michigan. He was a son of Elmer Edwin and Beatrice (nee Schramm) Kreger. He was a 1962 graduate of Romeo High School. Edwin spent his entire life on a farm and always loved farming. He worked as a custodian for Romeo Public Schools and retired from there after many years of service. On August 5, 1978, he married Jacqueline Hunko at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Macomb Township. He was a life long member of St. Peter Lutheran Church. Edwin could be described as humble, kind and hard working. He loved his family and was a wonderful husband, father and grandpa. Animals, even stray ones, were loved and cared for by Edwin. He enjoyed casino trips, telling silly stories and making people laugh. Edwin will be greatly missed by his loving family and dear friends. Edwin is survived by his wife, Jackie; children, Stacy (Nick) Malvasi and Kurt (Julie) Kreger; grandchildren, Cooper Malvasi, Quinn Malvasi, Joslyn Kreger and Preston Kreger; sisters, Kathy Brakenhoff, Cheryl (Gary) Bach and Eileen (Gary) Tobias; nephew, Nick Bach; niece, Carrie Blankertz; and many more nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Edwin was predeceased by his sister, Marie Rogers and parents. The family of Edwin will receive family and friends on Friday, November 12, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter Lutheran, 17051 24 Mile Rd, Macomb. The funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions would be appreciated to the ASPCA or American Heart Association.
