Robert C. Gildenmeister, 71, residing in Huron, passed away Saturday, November 6, 2021 at Stein Hospice Care Center. Robert was born on November 1, 1950 in Sandusky, OH to the late Butch and Cora Gildenmeister. Robert graduated from Perkins High School. He was a Veteran of the United States Army who proudly served his country. He was employed at Scott Paper Company, where he met his wife of 40 years, Marylin. He then worked in Norwalk as a Heating and Air Conditioning Technician for many years before retiring. Robert was a member of the AMVETS, Eagles, and American Legion. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, football, golfing and most of all spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. Robert is survived by his wife, Marylin (Crum) Gildenmeister; sons, Jason Gildenmeister of Sandusky and Bruce Luma Jr. of Republic,OH; several grandchildren; brothers, Butch (Karen) Gildenmeister, Jim (JoAnn) Gildenmeister; best friend, Matt Krause and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. In addition to his parents, Robert is preceded in death by his sons, Joseph Gildenmeister and James Edward Luma. Friends may call on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 from 4:00PM to 7:00PM at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. An additional visitation will be held on Thursday, November 11, 2021 at 10:00AM until time of funeral services at 11:00AM in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron, OH. Those wishing to contribute to Robert's memory may do so to Stein Hospice Services, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870 .

I was saddened to hear that Bob had passed. I feel that I was privileged to care for him at OVH as his nurse. He was a wonderful quick-witted man. I'm glad I got to meet him. Prayers to the family for strength during your time of grief.
