Lonnie Joe Feeler Obituary

Lonnie Joe Feeler, Jr., 58, passed away in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in the presence of his loving family on Thursday, October 28, 2021. He was born on September 11, 1963, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, to Lonnie Joe, Sr., and Dortha (Jones) Feeler. Lonnie lived in multiple states and countries but always came home to Northeast Oklahoma and Langley to be closer to family.

After graduation from Satellite High School in Melbourne, Florida, Lonnie followed in his father’s footsteps and served his country in the United States Army in the Infantry, as Tank Commander, as Platoon Sergeant, and as a Master Instructor Drill Sergeant, ending his enlistment with an Honorable Discharge (1988).  Lonnie explored many careers in his lifetime including police officer and branch manager.  He preferred to be his own boss and owned LJF Construction; Cellular Solutions, which he co-owned with his brother Gary; and TEEBE Transportation, which he named for his children.  Ultimately, he found a career he loved in over-the-road driving.  He recently celebrated 6 years of driving for Hobby Lobby.  Whether driving solo, training new drivers, or driving as a team, Lonnie enjoyed the variety, the friendships, and the scenery that this career provided.  He especially enjoyed his trips that took him though the mountains.

Lonnie worked tirelessly for his family, and he took great pride in what he considered his most important roles in life - those of being a father, grandfather, brother, and son.  He leaves his cherished memories with his mother Dortha Feeler and brothers Gary Dewayne Feeler and Keith Eugene Feeler (wife Bobbie).  His children are the names he tattooed on his arm and the love he carried in his heart:  Tashia Nicole Feeler, Erica Rae Haynes, Elizabeth Dawn Quinlan, Emily Nichole Peters (husband Thomas), Briana Renee Feeler, and Ethan Burke Feeler.  Whether biological, the product of time travel, or adopted, he tormented, tried to embarrass, and deeply loved each one of them.  Grandchildren, Kirsten Walker, Gabriella Walker, Layken Walker, Lyric Taylor, Salem Haynes, and Aria Adams (arriving soon) will dearly miss their doting Papa.  Lonnie will always be remembered fondly by his extended family and many friends.

Lonnie was preceded in death by his father, Lonnie Joe Feeler, Sr., his paternal grandparents, Henry Feeler and Margaret (Kendall, Feeler) Conner, his maternal grandparents Tom and Dortha (Morris) Jones, and maternal aunt Mary (Jones) Gilmore.

Lonnie enjoyed riding his motorcycle, cooking with his family, and relaxing at the lake.  He had a love for showy cars and live music.  Many will remember Lonnie for his larger-than-life stories and his willingness to debate all sides of current politics in his 1990’s newspaper column and on his social media account.  But most of all, he will be remembered for how he loved his family, the lasting friendships he made in each phase of his life, and the energy he spent doing what he could for others.

A celebration of life for Lonnie Joe Feeler, Jr., will be announced at a later date.
