June Ann (Stewart) Hebein Obituary

June Ann (Stewart) Hebein, 89, passed away Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017. Born December 26, 1927, in Columbus, Ohio to Sherman Sigsbee and Mabel Marie "Mary" (Purcell) Stewart. June had one sister, Lois R. Harris and one step-brother, David E. Ryan. She attended Hollywood High School and it was in San Diego, Calif. that she met the love of her life, Frederick J. "Fritz" Hebein. They were married on Feb. 12, 1945. After Fritz was discharged from the Marines they moved back to Fritz's home town of Pueblo, Colo. with their young son, Fred. June loved Pueblo and lived there for the remainder of her life. She and Fritz raised two boys, Frederick J. Hebein, Jr. and Sherman S. Hebein in Pueblo. After nearly twenty years of service to the United States Forest Services, June retired as a financial clerk in 1981. Before his death in 2012, Fritz and June enjoyed sixty-seven years of loving marriage. June's interests included gardening, bingo at the Elks Club and the many activities with her friends at Primrose Retirement Community where she spent her last few years. June is preceded in death by her husband, Frederick J. "Fritz" Hebein; parents, Sherman Sigsbee and Ruth [Donaldson] Stewart and Mabel Marie "Mary" [Purcell] and Thomas Anthony Ryan; and her step-brother, David Eugene Ryan. She is survived by both of her boys, Frederick J. Jr. (Cindy) Hebein of Yorba Linda, Calif. and Sherman S. (Donna) Hebein of Montrose, Colo. June was a grandmother to six grandchildren, Christopher Hebein of Reno, Nev., Melissa Hebein of Yorba Linda, Calif., Jennifer Hebein of New York City, N.Y., Kelli (Jarom) Huff of Fort Collins, Colo., Sean (Nicol) Hebein of Foothill Ranch, Calif. and Zach (Kristin) Hebein of Herriman, Utah. June was also a great-grandmother to six great-grandchildren, Anika and Dallin "Bo" Huff, Roxy and Alexandria Hebein and Blakelee and Savanna Hebein. June is also survived by her sister, Lois R. Harris of Napa, Calif. The family wishes to express their appreciation and gratitude to Dr. Harry R. Keefe, M.D. for his friendship and his wonderful care as her personal physician. Cremation, Montgomery & Steward Crematorium Her cremains will be interred at Columbarium Wall #6 at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado in Grand Junction, Colo. with a private family memorial service.
