Julia Ann Sims Obituary
Julia Ann Sims passed away in Tulsa, OK on Thursday afternoon, October 21, 2021, at the age of 80 years.
Julia was the daughter of George Wilson Deel and Lucille Deel, born on December 25, 1940 in Holdenville, OK. She grew up Holdenville, OK and attended schools there. She married Billy Lynn Sims in Holdenville, OK on November 5, 1959 and shared a love with him for 61 years.
Julia went on to work at Peoples Bakery in Okmulgee, OK and became the co-owner with Bill in 1964. There she worked with her husband for more than 40 years to make countless numbers of wonderful doughnuts, cookies, cakes, and other baked delights for the good people of Okmulgee and the surrounding area.
She is preceded in death by her parents, George Wilson and Lucille Deel; and her two brothers, Arthur King and James Deel.
She is survived by her two sons, Kenneth and Keith Sims; three grandchildren, Jennifer Hatcher, Rachel Sims, and Katie Sims; one great grandson, Dillon Miller; one brother, Wilson Deel, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A graveside service will be held 1 PM on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Holdenville Cemetery.
