Obituary David Leroy Newton October 29, 1942- October 26, 2021 David L. Newton, 78-year-old life-long Worland resident, passed away at his home on October 26, 2021. David was born on October 29, 1942, in Worland to Woodrow Robert and Bertha (Elliott) Newton. On August 6, 1961, David married Patricia Ellen Timmons in Palm Springs, California. They spent the rest of their lives in Worland where David started Dave Newton Drilling in 1970. He has drilled the majority of wells in all of the Big Horn Basin. All of his children at one time or another worked for the company and learned the trade. Currently the business is under the direction his daughter, Nancy and her husband, Kris Radell. The company also did seismograph drilling in surrounding states during the 1980’s. They spent their winter months in Quartzite, Arizona where they enjoyed having a side company, “Ma and Pa’s Kettle Corn”. Some of Dave’s loves, besides his family, were hunting, fishing and an occasional trip to Alaska to go deep-sea fishing. David was preceded in death by his parents, and son, Timothy Newton. He is survived by his wife, Patricia; son, David “Brent” (Henny) Newton of Stanley, North Dakota; daughters, Karen (Philip) Jarrett of La Pine, Oregon and Nancy (Kris) Radell of Worland; brothers, Charles (Shari) Newton and Albert (Jo) Newton both of Worland; 8 sisters: Nona (Lowell) Speakerworth of Paulden, Arizona; Zula (Archie) Crichton of Basin, Wyoming; Shirley Kebler, MaryAnne Skiles, Carolyn (Mike) Krcil, Ialene (Alan) Dangel, Audrey Dooley, and Holly (Frank) Getzfreid all of Worland; 12 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
