Gregory L. Richard

The family of Gregory L. Richard, age 68, announces that he passed away peacefully, October 26, 2021, in Swanton. He was born in St. Albans, August 11, 1953 to Gordon and Esther (Gaudette) Richard. Gregory married Cheryl Ashton, November 19, 1999. Greg worked for many years for the City of St. Albans as an Operator at the Water Plant. He retired in 2007. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time with his grandchildren. He especially enjoyed his time with his wife of 22 years, Cheryl. He is survived by three children, Jeremiah Richard (Katie) of Swanton, VT, Jessica Ashton of Georgia, VT, and Joshua Ashton (Meredith); nine grandchildren; and two siblings, Gordon Richard of Georgia, VT and Betty Clapper of Saint Albans, VT, and a special friend Angie White of St. Albans, VT. He is preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Honey Peretta. A Remembrance Gathering was held in St. Albans Bay Cemetery. As an alternative to flowers, memorials may be made in his name to the Jim Bashaw Cancer and Catastrophic Illness Fund, 133 Fairfield Street, St. Albans, VT.
