Rogers was born in Chicago, Illinois on November 9, 1952. He was the fifth child of 7 children, born from the union of Rogers and Estelle Latimer.

Rogers went to Crane Technical High School, but never finished. Rogers worked several jobs, Presbyterian Hospital, Serta Mattress Company and Advertising Metal Company. He enjoyed life to the fullest. He party hardy until his health started to decline.

His parents, Rogers and Estelle Latimer and one nephew Eric Brown preceded him in death.

Rogers leaves to cherish his memory his siblings, Matiel (Robert) Latimer-Brown, Jeanette Webb, Esther Latimer, James G. Latimer and Richard Latimer. Nieces and nephews, Michael Brown, Tatiana Jackson-Brown, Tavares Jackson-Brown, Tamia Jackson-Brown. Step nieces and nephew Tavion Jackson-Minor, Tamar Jackson-Minor and girlfriend for many years Wendy McGee.
