Patrick John Janish

Parkston – Patrick John Janish, 61, went to his heavenly home Sunday, October 31 at his home near Parkston. Funeral mass will be Monday, November 8 at 10:30 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Parkston. Visitation will be Sunday, November 7 from 6 to 7 pm with a 7:00 pm prayer service at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Parkston. Arrangements by Koehn Bros. Funeral Home in Parkston. Patrick was born February 25, 1960 to Rudolph and Agnes (Bigge) Janish in Parkston, SD. He attended Parkston High School and graduated in 1978. He served his country in the South Dakota Army National Guard for 16 years. He worked for Trail King in Mitchell, SD, MDS Manufacturing in Parkston, Petro Steel in Corsica, SD, and eventually at Parkston Salvage. He enjoyed throwing darts, playing pool, wrestling while in high school and classic cars, especially his 1973 Dodge Charger. Grateful for having shared his life are his 2 sisters: Kathryn Kokesh of Wagner, SD and Mary Beth (Darren) Meeks of Rapid City, SD; his step-father, James Pavlin; and 8 nieces and nephews: Richard (friend Brooklyn) Kokesh, Kristi (Heath) Gumb, Kimberly (Tyler) Pepper, Robert (Maddie) Kokesh, Jessica (friend Alex) Meeks, Mckenzie Meeks, Kaleigh (friend Beau) Meeks and Leigha Meeks; great nephews and niece: Logan, Lincoln, Liam, Lane, Klay and Ally; and 3 aunts: Helen Bigge of Parkston, Mary Peters of White Lake, SD, and Frances Gerlach of Mitchell. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph and Agnes, a brother, Robert Janish; grandmas, grandpas, aunts and uncles.
