<p>Rush Springs: Jerry James Brown, 77, passed away Sunday, October 31, 2021 in Rush Springs.</p><p><br></p><p>Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, November 4, 2021, at the Rush Springs Assembly of God, with Rev. Lonnie Harris officiating. Burial will be in the Rush Springs Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow.</p><p><br></p><p>Visitation will be held at Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Rush Springs on Tuesday, November 2, 5:00-8:30 PM, and Wednesday, November 3, 8:30 AM - 8:30 PM.</p><p><br></p><p>Jerry was born Saturday, October 28, 1944 in Grady County, to Bill and Waniece (Golden) Brown. He grew up attending school at Rush Springs, and he married his sweetheart, Cheris Long, September 9, 1963. He and Cheris celebrated over 58 wonderful years of marriage together. Jerry worked as a truck driver and owned Jerry's Cafe until his retirement. He had lived in Rush Springs for the last 50 years. Jerry was a former member of First Assembly in Rush Springs for 28 years where he served as a Deacon, Sunday school teacher, secretary, bus driver, and anything else the church called him to do. He enjoyed listening to several different genres of music, watching westerns on the TV, piddling around in his shop, and playing cards and games with his family. Jerry loved his family above everything else and cherished the time together. </p><p><br></p><p>Survivors include his wife of the home, son, James Brown and Janie of Moore, 4 daughters, Darla Coon and husband Roland of Ninnekah, Tina Brown of Chickasha, Sheila Shook and husband Thomas of Ninnekah, amd Lisa Brown, 9 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, brother, Bobby Brown of Rush Springs, sister, Peggy Ratlif of Chickasha, and Cody Sims and wife Lauren.</p><p><br></p><p>Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, and son, Richard Lynn Brown.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>Pallbearers will be: Jerry's grandsons, Brandon Coon and Cody Sims, Stanley Pittman, Gene Brown, Jared Bratcher, and Dustin Bratcher.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>Online condolences may be made to www.CallawaySmithCobb.com</p><p><br></p>
