Sarah Lou Wood Obituary

Sarah Lou Wood, born May 20, 1940, passed away on April 15, 2016 at her home in Forest Hill, MD. She was the daughter of the late Reverend Walter Kemp and Laura Esther Jones. Born in Baltimore, she was a 1958 graduate of North Harford High School and had previously worked on Aberdeen Proving Ground as a secretary. She was a very talented artist who loved to draw and paint. She was self-taught to play the guitar and piano and wrote Christian songs and poems. She loved our Lord and Savior and sang in the church and was a big supporter of the Jewish Voice and the Jewish people. Mrs. Wood is survived by her husband of 58 years as of July 2016, Charles Wood; children Ruth Mallonee of Airville, PA and Jean Younce of Aberdeen; her brother, Walter Jones Jr.; her 4 grandchildren, Heather Simon, Blair Mallonee Jr., David Meads Jr. and Cory Younce; and two great grandchildren, Dillon and Morgan Simon. Pallbearers will be Blair M. Mallonee Sr., Blair M. Mallonee Jr., David Meads Jr., Carl Younce, Cory Younce, Marty Simon, and Wm. Josiah Akehurst.
