<p>Rogelio Javier Chacon, age 17 and a junior at Saint Stanislaus College (SSC) passed away on October 30, 2021.</p> <p>He is survived by his parents, Rodolfo and Selinda Chacon; and his siblings, Marcos Andres and Sofia Karina Chacon.</p> <p>Rogelio was born in Eagle Pass, TX on October 20, 2004 and from the short time that he and his family lived there until age 9; he enjoyed playing football, basketball, and was a member of the local 4-H program.</p> <p>In 2013 his family moved to Virginia where he continued his love for sports and music. He continued to play saxophone in middle school, and would love to play baseball on the weekends.</p> <p>At age 14 his family moved to Mississippi. In true Rogelio fashion he quickly adapted to his new surroundings, making friends and continuing his love for sports and music. It was his time at SSC that made him the outstanding young man everyone grew to love. He greeted everyone with a smile and was always ready to lead a discussion on the latest sports scores. Although his time at SSC was brief, Rogelio was active. His freshman and sophomore years he played baseball, where third and first bases were his preferred spots. While his love for sports was great, it was his love for music that dominated. He continued to play the saxophone during his freshman and sophomore years, and was selected by his band director during his junior year to lead the band as drum major. It was a position that he did not take lightly. During his junior year he decided to challenge himself and make his faith with God stronger by becoming a student minister. This was where he reached out to many students and encouraged them to keep their faith in God strong.</p> <p>&ldquo;He will always be missed and in our hearts for the rest of our lives and never forgotten. Your smile will forever be in our hearts. We love you, our sweet baby boy. Love, your mom, dad, brother, and sister, and family.&rdquo;</p> <p>A visitation will be held Tuesday, November 2, 2021 from 4:00-7:00pm at the Riemann Family Funeral Home, Long Beach. A second visitation will be held Wednesday, November 3, 2021 from 9:00-11:00am at Holy Family Catholic Church, Pass Christian. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am in the church.</p>
