Edwin J. “Charly” Tillman of Three Lakes, WI passed away on October 27, 2021 at the age of 84. He was born on February 25, 1937 in Antigo, WI to Edwin R. & Goldie (Nowe) Tillman. He was an active member of the United States Army serving in Korea. He married Patricia A. Burke June 11, 1960 and they made their home in Three Lakes where they raised their 4 children. They lived at Camp White Deer where Charly was head caretaker for the Girl Scout camp located in the Nicolet National Forest on Butternut Lake. He was appointed deputy sheriff under Forest County as the camp location was very remote at the time. During the winter months he worked as a logger. In his later years he worked for the town of Three Lakes as town maintenance and retired from there. Charly played slow pitch softball in his younger years belonging to the Three Lakes league. He loved the outdoors, enjoying all types of hunting and fishing. He enjoyed building model airplanes, woodworking and listening to traditional country music. He was a huge fan of NASCAR and Packer football. His most treasured times were family gatherings. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister: Marilyn (Carl) Lang; brothers: Raymond (Doris) Tillman, Duane (Joyce) Tillman; brother-in-law: David Hibbard. He is further survived by his wife: Pat; daughters: Kathy (Mark) of Land O’Lakes, WI, Sandy (Randy), Lynn (Joe), both of Three Lakes; son: Charly (BJ) of Rapid City, SD; grandchildren: Chad, Amanda, Christie and Monty; great-grandchildren: Isabell, Emmitt and Anna; sister: Lois Hibbard; brothers: John (Carol) Tillman, and Terry (Sherry) Tillman. A memorial service will be at 11am Tuesday November 9, 2021 at the Gaffney-Busha Funeral Home in Eagle River, WI. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service and burial to follow at Three Lakes Cemetery.
