<p>Donald Gruber, 91 years old, a resident of Buckman passed away on Wednesday October 27, 2021 at the Gardens at Foley, under hospice care.</p> <p>Donald was born on the family farm which he operated along with his business known as Don&#39;s Quality Eggs. He retired from the egg business upon it&#39;s sale; but continued to maintain his family farm receiving Century Farm recognition in 2007. Donald continued to maintain the family farm until his death. Music was very important to Donald in his younger years, he led Don&#39;s According Band with several the local musicians, and in his later years he enjoyed fishing and traveling the throughout the US in his one-ton truck and spending many winters being a snowbird in Sebring Florida.</p> <p>He is survived by his wife, Irene Lemke of 68 years; whom he always gave credit, by often saying, &rdquo; if it wasn&#39;t for Irene, she worked awful hard, we would not have made it. I could not do it alone.&rdquo;. Don leaves behind, Irene and his daughters Paulette Leduc of Chaska, MN, Shirley (Kelsey) of Anchorage, AK, and Rose Ann Vannurden (Allen) of Rice, MN, with 4 grandchildren, and soon to be Nine great grandchildren.</p> <p>Donald is preceded in death by his Parents Edward and Catherine (Meyer) Gruber his sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn Gangle (Paul) his brother Alfred and Valery, (Posterick) Gruber.</p> <p>Burial will be at Union Cemetery, attached to their family farm in rural Buckman with arrangements being entrusted to Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Randall. A private service to be scheduled at later date.</p>
