Treyton James Meyer Obituary

WATCH LIVE FUNERAL STREAM HERE (12 NOON MDT)

On October 25, 2021, after two courageous battles with brain cancer, our precious little warrior, Treyton (Trey) James Meyer, passed gently into the arms of Jesus, at home and surrounded by his loved ones. Treyton was the beloved son of Shantel Laird and John & Kolbie Meyer. Treyton was ten years old, born November 15, 2010, in American Fork, Utah.

Treyton was a brilliant child, with a hilarious sense of humor and the best comebacks ever! He had a beautiful old soul and loved his friends and family deeply. Treyton was kind, compassionate, bluntly honest, stubborn, incredibly brave, and always full of sass.

Trey was his mama's sun, moon, and stars and has a bond with his daddy that can never be broken. He loved his parents fiercely and was a beautiful mix of the very best of both of them.

He had a true love of life. He had a special connection with animals and especially loved dogs, cats, chickens, snakes, frogs, and lizards. Trey loved his beautiful little sister, Preslee. When she was born, she was Trey’s baby, and he would kindly let us “babysit” her. Trey deeply loved his beautiful bonus mom, Kolbie, and her famous tortilla soup. He loved hiking, camping, building forts, hunting crystals with his mom, riding razors and building Legos with this dad. He loved rollercoasters, music, Halloween, pocketknives, earning money and counting his cold hard cash.  Trey had a special sweet spot for his grandmas. He loved having sleepovers and playing in Grandma Jenny’s Garden. He also loved reading Goosebumps and trips to Lagoon with his Grandma Sue and Papa Joe. Trey had a brotherly bond with his Uncle Jared. They were a team and spent countless hours watching scary (really scary) movies and playing X-box.

Treyton’s smile and raspy little voice brought a smile to everyone that knew him. He taught us how to be brave, extra tough, and patient. He taught us to be grateful for the little things in life, to laugh whenever you have the chance and that it’s possible to endure the impossible. Trey was an amazing example of strength and determination every single day. Although Treyton’s life was short, his journey deeply touched countless souls all around the world. Life will never be the same without him.

We are absolutely heartbroken over the loss of our little warrior, but so thankful that Trey is no longer in pain. We know his wings are spread wide and he is surrounded by glory and love. Fly high little angel, fly high... The world will never be the same without you!

In addition to his parents, Trey is survived by his little sister, Preslee Meyer; his grandparents, Jennifer Meyer, Sue Ann Brown, Papa Joe Brown, Kurt Briggs, and Kristine & Michael Burton; his beloved aunts and uncles; best friend RJ Traylor; numerous great grandparents, cousins, Shantel’s partner Detrich Hay; and countless other relatives and friends who loved him.

Trey joins his Grandpa John Meyer, Grandpa James Laird, great grandparents, his furry best friends Bella & Garfield, and his sweet little snake, Barry, in Heaven.

There are no words to express the amount of love and appreciation we feel for everyone that supported Trey and our family through this journey. You are truly angels here on earth and we couldn’t have done this without you. Thank you!
