CHURCHVILLE – Mary Margaret (Huffer) Shull, 93, of Jennings Gap Rd., died Thursday, October 28, 2021.  Born October 26, 1928 in Augusta County, she was a daughter of the late Marvin Keezel Huffer and Mary Frances (Neff) Huffer.  Mary Margaret graduated from Highland County High School and Dunsmore Business School.  She retired from VDOT after a long career there, and was previously employed by Finkle’s Furniture Store in Staunton for a number of years.  She was a member of Glossbrenner United Methodist Church where she was active in church life and also provided support to the preschool program.  She was a dedicated caregiver to her aunts.  One of her favorite activities was “antiquing” with her aunts; they spent countless hours searching for treasures at antique sales.  Mary Margaret was preceded in death by two brothers, Gerald E. and Robert A. Huffer.  Surviving are two sisters, Connie J. Huffer and Patricia F. Huffer, both of Staunton; a brother, Donald L. Huffer and wife Nina of Chester, Vt.; nieces and nephews Cathy Flavin and husband Glen, Danny Huffer and wife Debbie, Kimberly Dawn Miller and husband Jerry, and Ethan Huffer and wife Toni; and three great-nephews and one great-niece.  A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, October 31 in Green Hill Cemetery, officiated by Pastor Lester Kennedy. Memorials may be directed to the Churchville Fire Department and Rescue Squad, PO Box 608, Churchville, VA  24421.  Bear Funeral Home is serving the family.  Condolences may be expressed to the family online at bearfuneralhome.com.
