Ambrose "AB" Smith
Ambrose "A.B." Smith, Mallie, Kentucky was born July 1, 1931 to William B and Myrta Smtih at Bath, Ky. He passed from this life October 26, 2021 at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, Kentucky, being 90 years and 3 months, 26 days at time of his passing. He married the love of his life Ruth Martin October 29, 1953, who preceded him in death August 9, 2021. A.B. loved the outdoors. Gardening, Fishing and Watching the Deer that came almost daily to his back door. He was always tinkering and inventing projects and was kiddingly called "McGuyver". He enjoyed company and looked forward every year to his family reunion. He also enjoyed going to the Old Carr Church to hear the Brothers preach and sing. He is survived by sisters Mildred Brown, Isom, Ky, Helen (Alfred Taylor), Mallie, Ky, a brother Oliver (Rita) Smith, Las Cruces, New Mexico. He is also survived by Special Niece, Janet (Henry) Madden and Special Nephew Bill (Lisa) Smith, who cared for him dearly and many other nieces and Nephews whom he loved. Also a caregiver Virgie Sexton. He was preceded in death by his parents William and Myrta Smith, Brothers Willard, Titus, Ernie, Paul; Sisters Nora Bentley, Mary Collins, and Jackie Porter. Funeral services for Ambrose "A.B." Smith will be Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 2:00PM at the Hindman Funeral Services Chapel with Bordes Slone and Roy Slone officiating. Burial will follow at the Steer Fork Cemetery at Mallie, Ky. Visitation will be Friday, October 29, 2021 from 6:00PM -9:00PM. In Lieu of Flowers the family has requested donations to the Old Carr Church at Mallie, Ky. Arrangements by Hindman Funeral Services.July 1, 1931 - October 26, 202107/01/193110/26/2021
