Charles Robert “Bob” Storie passed into the loving arms of his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, October 26, 2021. Bob was raised as a Christian, and his faith grew stronger through the trials of his life, he openly shared his faith in Jesus Christ. He spoke of his love for god, his family and his country. Bob was born on November 7, 1931 to Raymond Storie and Eddeth McClary Storie in Webster Groves, MO. He was the youngest of their three children. Bob had a wonderful sense of humor and an outgoing personality; he never met a stranger. He was truly blessed with the gift of sharing his many wonderful memories and stories of his life with family and friends. Many were of his days growing up as a young boy on his grandfather Charles McClary’s farm in Hanna, MO during the depression. There were challenges and changes in his youth in having to move to Chicago with his beloved Mom, sister and his brother Eugene. During his youth, he loved sports and devoted himself to wrestling through his years while he attended Chicago Vocational Tech High School in Englewood, IL. He competed in many local and state competitions. He held state in the middle weight division. He filled the trophy cases from his years of wrestling competition. After graduation, he joined the Air Force. He spent most of his military enlistment in Alaska and in Maine where he loved the beauty of the wilderness and he spent time in his passion for fishing. After his service, he worked at Fort Leonard Wood and taught as an instructor of auto mechanics. Soon after, he pursued his dream of owning his own auto repair shop and opened his own Mobil Gas Station with 3 service bays on the corner of Clayton &Conway Rd in Ladue, MO. He operated a highly respected business that serviced his community for over 33 years. When he retired, he first moved his family to Table Rock Lake in Kimberling City, MO where he was able to enjoy his hobbies which included gardening and his passion for fishing. He was a sportsman and he loved competing in various fishing tournaments throughout the years. Bob and Paulette have made their home in Springfield, MO for the past 30 years. With the passing, he is survived by his wife, Paulette, his sons; Charles Robert Storie Jr. of Joshua tree, CA, Anthony Neal Storie of Marietta, GA, and Chad Michael Storie of St. Louis, MO, His daughter Jennifer Ellison (Richard) of Labadie, MO, his grandchildren; Brandon teel (Leasha) of Eureka, MO, Christopher Teel (Anna) Tucson, AZ, Raelene Wood (Zach) of Little Elm, TX, Michael Storie Gorse of Richwoods, MO. Great grandchildren; Taylor Storie Gorse, Landen, Brynnen, Gary Storie, Craig Storie, Nieces; Ellen Smit, and Robin Holland along with many relatives and close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond C. Storie, Eddeth Storie Nielsen (Paul Nielsen), son Raymond Turner Storie, sister Evelyn Skjerseth Hodgerson, brother Eugene Storie, and grandson Jason teel. A visitation will be held on Friday, November 5, 2021 from 5-8 p.m. The following day, November 6, 2021, a funeral service will be held at Fairview Baptist Church in Waynesville, MO at 11 a.m. Charles’ care has been entrusted with Walnut Lawn Funeral Home DeGraffenreid-Wood Crematory.
